Ruto's Mount Kenya offensive a desperate move that may be too little too late: Too much pressure mounting for Kenya Kwanza

Ruto's decision to spend five days in the Mount Kenya region is obviously calculated and strategic, but it also reveals a sense of desperation. It is clear that he is trying to drum up support in an area where his popularity has clearly been waning.

By attempting to re-ignite anti-Raila sentiments in Mount Kenya, Ruto hopes to solve his mounting political problems. However, this move raises questions about his true intentions and whether he is genuinely interested in addressing the needs and concerns of the people or simply using them as a means to further his own selfish political agenda.

It is important to critically analyze Ruto's timing and motives behind this campaign strategy. Is he genuinely invested in the well-being of the people or is he solely focused on securing his own political future?

THis would have been an opportune time for his Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to step in and give much needed support and strategy to save what appears to be a sinking ship. Instead Gachagua's recent focus on blocking a handshake that nobody is interested in showcases his disconnect from the reality of what is happening in Kenya. It begs the question of whether he ever had his hand on the pulse of the nation, a critical attribute the retain political power anywhere in the world.

It is concerning that a public figure like Gachagua would waste time and resources on an issue that holds little to no relevance for the majority of Kenyans. This misplaced focus raises doubts about his ability to effectively represent and serve Kenyans, let alone save the Ruto presidency and his position in it.

As Ruto's support dwindles, his options for maintaining power are rapidly diminishing. The recent tax increases have only served to further alienate his already disillusioned base. With each loss of support, Ruto finds himself facing a multitude of pressing issues that demand attention.

One such issue is the attention being drawn to police brutality and the involvement of the International Criminal Court (ICC). As Ruto struggles to maintain control, the spotlight on these major issues becomes increasingly intense. The public is growing more aware of the injustices occurring under his leadership, and they are demanding accountability.

Ruto must now confront the reality that the mounting pressure from both internal and external forces will continue to erode his support base unless he addresses pressing issues facing ordinary Kenyans, head-on. Time is running out for Ruto as he finds himself cornered with limited options and an increasingly disenchanted populace.
