Over 1000 policemen suddenly promoted in unprecedented move: Pushed from State house for what reason?

The very sudden and unexpected move two days ago to promote en masse over 1000 policemen holding the rank of inspector is unprecedented in Kenya and is a clear sign that the Ruto regime is determined to continue "using" the police force as a very key tool in their strategy to retain power and frustrate any calls for justice or reforms.
Although police promotions are not supposed to be influenced from outside the police service, there are tell tale signs that the move was pushed from Ruto's state house.

In changes to the National Police Service announced, more than 1,000 police personnel with the rank of inspector have been promoted. More than 200 members of the Administration Police are among them, along with 381 members of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and 471 members of the regular Kenya Police. They were congratulated and told of the promotions in an internal message dated July 31.

The officers were all being promoted to the rank of Chief inspector and it is instructive that most officers of the rank of Chief Inspector serve as Officers Commanding Station (OCS) and thus play a critical role in giving and forwarding orders to junior officers in the field.

Therefore, promoted Kenya Police Service officers are now informed that they will report to NPC Main Campus Kiganjo for a six (6) week training period beginning on Monday, August 7, 2023. Joining instructions will be provided, part of the memo stated.

This is happening at a time when the Inspector General of Police, Japhet Koome, and a few commissioners at the National Police Service Commission are at odds about who gets promoted when and by whom.

Court proceedings over the same have now been continued until November 2023.

The commission later got together to resolve the issues and came to an agreement, but the employment court was informed that for unknown reasons, the agreement has not yet been registered in court.

In compliance with the 2010 Constitution's requirements, the IG recently promoted 514 senior officers to various ranks.

Eliud Lagat, who has just been appointed Commandant of the General Service Unit, Bruno Shioso, Director-General of the Kenya Coast Guard Service (KCGS), Deputy Director of Criminal Investigations Nicholas Kamwende, Director of the DCI's Investigations Bureau (IB), David Birech, and John Onyango of crime research were all promoted, according to Koome's promotions to SAIG (Senior assistant inspector general of police).

The Director of the Internal Affairs Unit, Abdalla Komesha, was also elevated to the same level.

All newly appointed regional police commanders, who held the title of Commissioner of Police, also received promotions to Assistant Inspector General (AIG) positions.

Even as dark clouds hang over the nation of Kenya spiritually, some Kenyans have a very bad feeling about this August 2023. And they are convinced that something very big is coming. Since Kenya attained her independence and even before, the month of August seems to have a streak of bad luck for politicians in Kenya. Disasters too have happened in Kenya in August. Game-changing major events have also unfolded in this same dreaded month. GET FULL DETAILS ON:

Olusegun Obasanjo, a prominent Nigerian statesman, is set to play a crucial role as a mediator in the Kenya peace talks between Raila and Ruto, even as maandamano continue. But what most Kenyans do not realize is that he has been here before, playing the same role. That was in 2008 during the bloody post election violence that erupted after Mwai Kibaki rigged the 2007 presidential polls.

John Jomo succeeded in his prayers to the court and Justice Jairus Ngaah issued an injunction prohibiting the agency from requiring Jomo Kenyatta junior to surrender his pistol without first going through the laid down legal process. But how will the Ruto government respond? Here are a few possible "crazy" scenarios.

Those who saw Hussein Mohamed during his distinguished career as a Citizen TV journalist may be excused for feeling pity for him watching his body language a few hours ago as he fielded a question about Raila's claim that President Ruto invited the Tanzanian president to Kenya to mediate talks between him and Raila Odinga, only to snub her. President Samia Suluhu Hassan then left the country after two nights at a Nairobi hotel waiting in vain.

Mohamed started off laughing nervously when the question was posed. He then followed it up with his shifty answer which hardly made sense.

In just a handful of days, what happened in Nyalenda, Kisumu recently has moved from being highly sensitive to the Ruto government to something being discussed openly. And surprisingly, the international media and community are suddenly leading the discussions and showing great concern.

Raila Odinga in a press conference with the international press in Nairobi yesterday even went on to use the phrase “ethnic cleansing” and made comparisons with similar happenings from the past from all over the world. Read Chris Kumekucha full article
